Description:

RNASeq Library Preparation Workshop

Sponsored by IIGB in partnership with New England Biolabs, Inc.

DATE:  Friday November 4th and Saturday November 5th

LOCATION: Neil Campbell Science Learning Laboratory

TIME: Plan on 9am-4pm (Day 1)  & 9am-3pm (Day 2)

Lunch provided both days

Gain hands-on experience preparing RNAseq libraries for Illumina sequencing under the instruction of New England Biolabs scientists.
Participants will prepare directional RNAseq libraries from their own RNA (or control RNA provided by NEB) using the soon to be released NEBNext Ultra II Directional  RNA library prep and ribosomal RNA Depletion kits (human, mouse, rat, plant). The resulting multiplexed libraries will be pooled and sequenced on the Illumina NextSeq 500 sequencer. Library prep reagents and basic lab-ware will be provided.

This two days hands-on training will provide an overview of:

-          RNA QC prior to library preparation

-          NEBNext Directional RNAseq library prep chemistry

-          NGS Library QC (troubleshooting)

-          RNAseq library sequencing performance

What  to bring
-
Total RNA (10 - 1000ng in 12μl nuclease-free water) from Human, Mouse, Rat
or Plant species
- Your own pipette set (p10, p20 and p200 pipettes).

This is a hands-on workshop, so attendance will be limited to 24 participants only. Attendees can bring their own RNA samples(up to two per person). Multiple attendees per lab will be permitted if space is available.

To apply for attendance please provide your name and PI name via email to gencore@ucr.edu.  We will send a follow up questionnaire.

There is a $100 materials fee per registrant.

Looking forward to seeing you there for a great hands-on learning experience!
