FREE Leica SP5 confocal training this Tuesday afternoon 12-3pm

Description:

There will be a free training session on the Leica inverted SP5 confocal microscope on Tuesday June 10th from noon until 3pm in Keen Hall room 1007.  Contact dcarter@ucr.edu to reserve a space

There is now an optional lens inverter which allows you to use the higher sensitivity and flexibility of the newer SP5 on samples which require upright imaging, for example with a dipping lens into a dish of liquid.

In other news, a new fast Z-drive for the older Leica SP2 has been reinstalled.  Use Z-select button to choose which to use for Z-stacks.  It can be used for vertical X-Z imaging when zoomed in. The SP5 is very busy at present so please don't book more time than you will use.

The TM-1000 scanning electron microscope is having difficulty finding focus without repeatedly going through an alignment procedure, which I am happy to teach any other users until we can get this resolved.

Thanks,

David
